How to Use

The Accu-Chek Aviva meter is easy to operate and, thanks to the preset time and date, enables the user to begin testing easily and quickly.

Testing Blood Glucose

Put a test strip into the meter and verify that the meter reference code number displayed on the screen matches the meter reference code number on test strip container. Test strip and blood drop symbols appear on the display.

Use the Accu-Chek Multiclix or Accu-Chek FastClix finger pricker to obtain a drop of blood as per the Meter Reference Manual chapter on using the finger prickers. Touch the drop of blood to the front edge of the yellow window on the test strip - do not apply to top of the strip or yellow window. A flashing hourglass indicates enough blood has been applied. The result appears in the display.

In addition to fingertip testing, the Accu-Chek Aviva system can be used for testing on alternate sites, including the palm, forearm, upper arm, thigh or calf.1  Alternate site testing requires the use of a special lancet cap.

For more information on how to use your meter, please see your Accu-Chek Aviva Reference Manual or view the interactive demo by clicking the green button on the left-hand side of your screen.

The Accu-Chek Aviva also comes with either an Accu-Chek FastClix (UK) or Accu-Chek Multiclix (ROI) finger pricker.
