Reach Magazine - A resource for you
Reach Spring / Summer 2006

This time of year is when everything is blooming. So in this issue we’ve got new ideas and information to help you grow your knowledge of how to live with diabetes. We cover everything from making home improvements (see our DIY article) to making babies (a report on how to prepare for pregnancy if you have diabetes).
In keeping with earlier issues that have tackled matters concerning food, we’ve included a lip-smacking smoothie recipe and also take a look at the growth of allergies in the UK; why they are occurring and how to live with them if you have one, particularly if they are food-based.
Other questions are expertly answered in the Dear Debbie page. As ever, we continue to find you great reader offers. Hopefully this puts a smile on your face too! This time of year is when everything is blooming. So in this issue we’ve got new ideas and information to help you grow your knowledge of how to live with diabetes.

A big thank you for all your letters. Telling us what you like (and what you don't!), and giving us your perspective on living with diabetes is what we want to hear.
Please don't stop. As you'll see, this jam-packed edition tries to cover as many of your points as possible.

Welcome to the first Reach of 2005… and what a lively issue we’ve got for you.
Everything is springing into life at this time of year and so are we. As well as an article on being more active to take advantage of the lighter nights and longer, warmer days, there’s a delicious lamb recipe to try... and tips for healthy eating.
In ‘How does your Garden Grow?’ you’ll see how gardening can be therapeutic for everyone – diabetes or not. More seriously we touch on diabetes and depression, and offer a supportive booklet – one of the unique Accu-Chek series that deals with the more emotional side of the condition.
As always we hope you enjoy your read, and of course, our great competitions, news and readers’ letters.
