Does the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader store readings on the computer?

No. The Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader reads the results from Accu-Chek meters or insulin pumps and displays them in a variety of easy-to-understand charts for printing or emailing. No results are stored on the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader or computer.

How can errors on the Accu-Chek device reader be resolved?

The Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader reports potential errors (e.g. during data transfer) by causing the centre display section 8 to flash.

If such an error occurs, the following options are available to solve the problem:

  1. In the browser user interface click the "Read Device" button. By flashing slowly again the centre display section should now indicate that it is actively searching for devices and that it is ready for data transfer.
  2. If the error signal continues, unplug the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader and plug it back in again. Then repeat the data transfer.

If the error signal occurs again, check the following points:

  1. Has the meter or insulin pump been prepared for data transfer properly?
  2. Is optical contact unobstructed (infrared port)? Is the distance correct (or too far)?
  3. Is there any interference from extraneous light (sunlight)?

In the event of error messages associated with data transfer it is not the Accu-Chek Smart Pix device reader which is faulty - there is interference with data transfer between the devices. In the individual cases this may be due to the meter or insulin pump. Please contact the Accu-Chek Customer Careline for further advice.
