mySugr and the Accu-Chek Mobile wireless adapter can make life with diabetes easier

4 December 2019

When does 1+1=5? Right now. We’ll show you 5 things that improve by combining the Accu-Chek Mobile and the mySugr app with the Accu-Chek Mobile wireless adapter.

When you combine the Accu-Chek Mobile blood glucose monitoring system with the new Accu-Chek Mobile wireless adapter and the mySugr app, keeping track of your diabetes gets a whole lot easier.

You have things to do and diabetes management can sometimes get in the way. It’s hard enough to remember birthdays and PIN numbers, let alone having to write down blood glucose readings. This is exactly where the mySugr app comes into play. It can take care of all the record keeping for you – automatically – so you can free up the space in your mind for more important things.

And now thanks to the new Accu-Chek Mobile wireless adapter, the Accu-Chek Mobile blood glucose monitoring system can communicate with the mySugr app via Bluetooth® – an exceptional app working together with an exceptional blood glucose meter (well, we think so anyway!). And as an Accu-Chek Mobile user, you can activate the extra features of mySugr Pro at no extra charge!

All you have to do is connect your Accu-Chek Mobile blood glucose system with the mySugr app using the new Accu-Chek Mobile wireless adapter – and you can benefit from the following 5 things that make your life with diabetes easier.

1. Say goodbye to paper

With just a few taps on your smartphone, your results are automatically logged in the mySugr app every time. Quick and easy. You see everything you need at a glance. And if you want more detail, daily, weekly and monthly analysis can be easily exported.

“Best Tool I Have - I just want to encourage anyone who is a diabetic and not already using this app to give it a try. It's easy, fun, and motivating. For the first time, I enjoy checking and logging my blood sugar. And I'm learning a lot along the way”.

2. Life is more fun with games

With the mySugr app "tame your monster" game, you can see that logging your results can beat the monster. It turns documenting your blood sugar into a game that’s fun to play and you always have your data right there, available at a glance on an easy and personalised logging screen. It’s already a big hit with more than one million registered mySugr users.

“This app makes diabetes care manageable! - This app is easy and fun! I've been an insulin-dependent diabetic for 32 years and have never been this consistent with documenting my blood sugars. Thanks for making it fun!" Review from App Store (Feb 2, 2016)

3. Proven to help

Analysis of 440 people with type 1 diabetes who were actively using mySugr showed that using the app could help improve Hba1c. Users were randomly selected for analysis but all had a starting HbA1c of ≥8%. After 6 months the estimated HbA1c dropped % on average to 7.7%1.

4. No one likes to do maths when they’re hungry

Diabetes can sometimes make eating and drinking feel like a maths assignment. The mySugr app comes with a bunch of practical functions to help get the maths out of the way, so you can get to your meal. With just a few taps, the Insulin Calculator gives you a bolus suggestion. Logging carb intake is easy and there’s even a Meal Photo feature to save pictures of your food so you don’t have to worry about forgetting what you ate again. You can also tag activities and locations as well.

“Love all the features and options for what can be included for record, such as amount of carbs, food item, before/after meals, what symptoms were being experienced”

5. Everything at a glance on your smartphone– wherever and whenever you want

With the Accu-Chek Mobile wireless adapter and the mySugr app, your smartphone is like a handheld diabetes control centre. By loading Google Fit or Apple Health, you can also integrate other health measurements like steps, activity, blood pressure and CGM data as well.
